AHN Chill Project™
Dr. William C. Davies, Program Director for the AHN Chill Project™ at Allegheny Health Network (AHN), has partnered with the district to provide a school-based mental health program serving students, staff and families within the West Jefferson Hills School District community. AHN Chill Project™ aims to increase student resilience, school employee/faculty comprehension of emotional wellness, parent well-being, and community connectedness. In addition, AHN Chill Project™ seeks to decrease parent stress, school employee burnout/turnover, and non-preferred student behavior.
Dedicated Behavioral Health School Educators and Behavioral Health Therapists provide supportive environments to help students achieve greater academic success, reduced anxiety, improved student teacher relationships, and the ability for students to engage in better decision-making. AHN Chill Project™ provides students and staff with a wide range of opportunities to learn and practice skills in the custom-built Chill Room™, in which all students and staff will have access, both planned and as needed.
Students may also visit the Chill Room™ at any time throughout the day to speak privately with one of the Chill Team members or if they simply need a few moments of quiet reflection and calm before they resume their normal schedule. School-Based Therapy is also provided by AHN Chill Project™ for students who need additional support. Staff members are encouraged to visit the Chill Room™ for any reason to support their own well-being and that of their students.
